Terms of use

These terms apply to everyone who uses NurseryHop. Part 2 also applies to nurseries that claim a listing or buy a paid plan. Last updated 23 October 2026.

1. About these terms

NurseryHop is operated by PeekabooHQ (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. Questions: hello@nurseryhop.com. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy notice.

Part 1: everyone

What the information is, and how accurate it is

Nursery names, addresses, registration details and inspection results come from Ofsted’s published data, reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We show them as Ofsted provides them and refresh them regularly, but there can be a delay, and we can’t guarantee they are complete or up to date. Always check the latest report on the Ofsted website before making a decision.

Information marked as provided by the nursery (such as fees, opening hours, photos, open days and jobs) is written by the nursery, not by us. We check that the person claiming a listing works there, but we don’t check everything they write. Please confirm anything important, especially fees, places and funding, directly with the nursery.

NurseryHop helps you find and compare nurseries. It isn’t advice or a recommendation, and choosing childcare is your decision.

How listings are ordered

Search results are ordered by distance unless you choose another sort. Nurseries on a paid Plus or Featured plan are shown above free listings and labelled “Promoted”, and Featured nurseries can appear in a labelled “Featured” slot at the top of local search (no more than 3 per search). Paying never changes a nursery’s Ofsted information or inspection results.

Using the site fairly

Don’t misuse the site: for example, don’t send spam or abusive messages through enquiry forms, try to break into accounts or the site, or copy the site’s content in bulk with automated tools. Ofsted data itself is open data you can get from Ofsted under the Open Government Licence.

Part 2: nurseries

Claiming a listing

Only someone authorised by the nursery (for example the owner, manager or registered person) may claim its listing. To claim, you create an owner account and give us evidence that you work there, such as a confirmed work email at the nursery’s own web domain or a document such as its Ofsted registration certificate. We review every claim by hand. We may ask for more evidence, and we may reject or withdraw a claim if we aren’t satisfied it’s genuine, if someone else has a better right to the listing, or if these terms are broken. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account.

Plans, prices and billing

The Free Claim plan costs nothing. Paid plans (Plus and Featured) are subscriptions billed monthly or annually in advance through our payment provider, Stripe, at the prices shown on our plans page when you subscribe. Prices exclude VAT, which is added at the prevailing rate where applicable. Stripe will send a VAT invoice for each payment, and you can see your invoices in your dashboard.

  • No minimum term. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your plan keeps running until the end of the month or year you’ve already paid for, then stops and your listing moves to the Free Claim plan. We don’t give partial refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it.
  • Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it; if it still can’t be collected, paid features are switched off.
  • Paid features start once your claim is approved. If you pay and we can’t approve your claim, we cancel the subscription and refund what you paid.
  • If we change the price of a plan, we’ll tell you by email at least 30 days before your next payment at the new price, and you can cancel before then.

What you can publish

You are responsible for what you add to your listing, and it must be accurate and lawful. In particular, you must not publish:

  • anything false or misleading, including about fees, funding, places or Ofsted results;
  • photos where children can be identified, unless you have their parents’ written consent, or any photo you don’t have the right to use;
  • other people’s personal data without a lawful basis, or anything that breaks safeguarding rules;
  • anything offensive, discriminatory or defamatory, or comments about other nurseries;
  • job adverts that break employment law, or links to harmful websites.

You keep ownership of what you upload, and you give us permission to show it on NurseryHop and in related search results and sharing previews for as long as it’s on your listing. We may edit or remove content, or suspend a listing, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms.

Enquiries

Enquiries and tour requests from parents are passed to you so that you can reply to them. Use the details only to respond to that parent and handle them under your own privacy notice. Don’t add them to marketing lists without consent.

Part 3: our responsibility

We work hard to keep NurseryHop available and accurate, but it is provided “as is”. We can’t promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features.

We aren’t responsible for decisions made using information on the site, for information supplied by Ofsted or by nurseries, or for any arrangement between a parent and a nursery. For nurseries, we aren’t liable for loss of profits, business or opportunity, or for indirect losses, and our total liability to a nursery in any 12 months is limited to the amount it paid us in that period.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Part 4: general

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, if a change significantly affects nurseries on a paid plan, email them in advance. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings where you live.
